GENERAL CLASSIFICATION:
Not much of Australia has rainforests but they contain 95 percent of the organisms in the continent.
PARTS OF RAINFOREST:
The rainforest has three layers: The canopy (top), the understory (middle) and the forest floor (bottom).
TYPES OF RAINFOREST:
There are tropical rainforests and there are temperate rainforests. Tropical rainforests are hotter closer to the equator
and temperate rainforests are cooler and closer to the poles.
7 RAINFOREST ANIMALS:
1. Gibbon

7. Platypus
7 RAINFOREST PLANTS:
1. Hoop Pine
2. Fan Palm
3. King Orchard
4. Staghorn Fern
5. Lawyer Fern
6. Cunjevoi
7. Bracket Fungi
INTERESTING FACTS:
* 95% of organisms are found in rainforests
* Deforestation is one of the worlds biggest problems
*Rainforests provide much of the oxygen and water
*If deforestation continues we could all die out
* If we didn't move houses frequently it would help forests a lot because when things are built wood is taken.
HISTORY OF RAINFORESTS:
Rainforests used to cover almost the whole land of the world. All the creatures were surviving. Then people came in and
started clearing the land for houses, farms and furniture. Animals were driven out of their homes and habitats. Lots of rainforests
disappeared and this continues. People are still land clearing and animals are saying goodbye to their homes. We should stop
clearing and start restoring.
